SIMPLE BATHROOM MAKEOVER
Low - cost, no - tear out construction - just upgrade the old girl!
Here is another go green project. Ancient wood (86' plywood, lol) re-purposed. As you know by now, I favor open shelving. For one it's easier to get a new and different look plus there is nothing to buy. So I happily tossed the doors, never to be seen again. Unplumbed the faucet. That was sooo gratifying, cause I learned to hate it intensely, not without good cause though. It took two hands to move the handle to get even one drop of water out of it. Now as far as the vanity was concerned it was built to last and I am going to applaud that this time. But the everlast Formica had to go you know where (the dump) and once it was gone I finally opened my wallet (squeek) yes, to a new vanity top and faucet too! But only because Lowe's had an irresistible deal.
Further below you will see the bathroom makeover that I had done initially without a new counter. Yah it was ok but that nasty faucet ruined it. I guess I just can't leave things alone, lol. But I am very happy with it now except I need to re-tile the floor which I will ... soon.
I will keep you posted on my blog.

DesignFirst round makeover not too bad but just not what I really wanted. What do you think? Below my niece Eden, a few years ago, isn't she cute? You can use photos of family in your modern cottage bathroom. I had this professionally mounted on board with a laminate (a studio sample) therefore no problem with moisture.

Guest Bathroom Layout
An old dresser from NY, re-purposed and perfect for my cottage. This bathroom had the same ever last built in vanity as above. I did re-use the sink part and faucet because it was still in great shape but tore out the rest. Top drawers are fronts only to hide plumbing but retained the bottom drawer with one open shelf. Great for towel storage. I did re-tile the floor with a white marble tile and wallpapered with a bead-board style paper. Added wide trim with 3 nickel towel hooks and voala!
