Dramatic Kitchen Make-over
Before and After: Paint it white with open shelving
So I bought a house with a "plain-jane" Kitchen which was dark and depressing. The Refrigerator stuck out into the kitchen like a sore thumb and then there was that horrible Formica counter top.
Create art within your Kitchen with nothing but paint!
Before
The bottom cabinets had 1985 etched doors, very common then, but not great now, even with paint it looked yuk. So I upgraded them with very low cost plain flat 3" pine trim, added new knobs and painted over everything with a satin white. The Formica counter top was a challenge, due to budgetary restraints I could not replace it so I decided to paint a marble texture over the Formica then added trim to the flat sides, ta da, done! Oh, wait, I also built a small desk were the refrigerator was to add a point of interest.
As usual I went to Lowe's for everything, they happen to have a great deal on paint, trim and knobs for my project.
